We are a well-educated, friendly, international family. We believe in lifelong-learning and we love meeting new people, Welcome new students and learning from each other. We have friends from all over the world but we are quite new to hosting homestay students. We have had a short-term student from Indonesia and currently have a part- time student from Japan.
The homestay Mum: Jayne comes from the UK and lived in Japan and Germany before marrying Anthony and settling in Singapore.
Hobbies- Jayne loves the outdoors and used to spend a lot of time in the mountains in the UK and Japan. Now she enjoys taking the students to the wonderful parks and beaches that Singapore has to offer. In rare quiet moment at home, Jayne likes to read.
Jayne is the guardian to the homestay students, She is also a school teacher. Jayne has taught at government-run, private and international schools and while Primary-qualified, has taught all ages of students, Jayne's educational background is foreign languages and teaching. She has a masters degree in teaching and continues to study and keep up to date with the latest teaching practices.
The homestay Dad: Anthony is born and bred in Singapore and met Jayne shortly after she moved to Singapore. Anthony loves tennis and plays regularly. He also likes music and played guitar in a band in his younger years. Whenever he has a few minutes to spare at home, He can be found reading or watching tennis on television. Anthony is a full-time lawyer. He also assists Jayne with her role of guardian to the homestay students.
Anthony ' s graduated from the national University Of Singapore with a degree in Law(LLB Hons).
The Homestay Brother: Ioan Happily switches between" how my friends at school talk"(Singlish)and "Mummy's English (British English). Ioan loves to play Lego and read books. His favourite books are Harry Potter and Horrid Henry. He likes to play Monopoly and other board games with his "homestay brothers". Of couse he also loves play Minecraft and watching TV but he is not allowed to do that too often! Ioan says is planning on becoming a "billionaire" although no-one is quite sure how he is going to do this! Ioan is in a local Singaporean Primary School and will begin Primary 6 in January 2018.
